Students involved in the K–2 Aboriginal Literacy program at Cooerwull Public School have been engaging with culture through story, yarning and writing.
Students listen to stories with Aunty Kym Cama and Mrs Bleyerveen and discuss the cultural themes before writing their response. The students’ writing skills continue to flourish each week, as does their knowledge of and passion for culture.
Over the last two weeks we have focused on the ‘Rainbow Serpent’ Dreaming story. The students had a wonderful time discussing, writing and colouring a rainbow serpent.
